The I-Shift system a so-called robotized manual gearbox is used in Honda Civic and Jezz . The I-shift system consists of 2 parts, the (TCU) clutch actuator and the shift motors.
Honda semi-automatic transmission problems caused by faulty clutch actuator.
The failure of the Honda I-SHIFT semi-automatic clutch actuator causes multiple transmission problems, often starting with 'N' flashing in the gear position indicator and the constant illumination of the transmission/I-Shift fault light.
While the vehicle is moving, an internal fault of the clutch actuator causes the transmission to drop out of the selected gear and prevents further gear selection.
If you have access to diagnostic tools you have probably seen the error codes below in the clutch actuator.
Shift motors
If the shift motors are defective, the car will no longer shift properly or not at all, making the car no longer driveable. If you have the vehicle scanned with diagnostic tools you will usually get the most common error code of P0780 – Gear selection shift malfunction.
